RIVER ROAD - Track 4 Video

"River Road" was co-written with Thomm Jutz on a trip to Nashville last year.  I grew up in the small town of Jedburgh in the south of Scotland where the Jed Water has flowed for thousands of years.  Recently I read a historical book by Alastair Moffat and he described how rivers were seen by the ancients as sentient.  Rivers, in those times, were named to describe the size and sounds of the water running through the place.  My hometown was likely named after the word "Jekti" which described the water as "talking" or "babbling".  To me there's always been something comforting in the sound of a moving river, something alive and yet peaceful at the same time. I hope you find a bit of that in the latest tune "River Road".  David
